This Sari Wrap is made from handloomed vintage silk Mudmee fabric from Thailand.
This excerpt from My Thailand Blog explains it as follows - Mudmee is a technique of hand weaving fabric on old wooden looms. Mudmee weaving is also known as ikat weaving throughout the world.
This fabric was woven in Thailand over 25 years ago and came from a skirt that was woven and sewn on one side. The silhouette was a tube shape and you tied it at the top to adjust to your waist size. Now it has a new life as a Sari Wrap that can be worn in a variety of ways.
The Sari Wrap will beome your wardrobe's most versatile piece. Wear as a dress, vest, shrug, scarf, pareo, or cape. It is the one staple that can be worn all year round...no matter what the season is. It makes a great layering piece during colder weather, and also a mutli-functional swimsuit cover up that goes from beach to cafe.
The upcycled vintage silk Sari Wrap has armholes with a turned clean finish that allows you to create all these styling options. A styling booklet illustrating the different looks you can make is included.
The fabric has a deep burgundy ground with a geometric ikat pattern in rich golds and deep red tones.
