22" x 22" Vintage Kimono Pillow  

Kimono, a traditional Japanese garment, literally means "thing to wear".  They are traditionally made from bolts of fabric known as tanmono, which are woven to a width of approximately 14 inches and 12 yards in length. There are many different time consuming processes and techniques involved in creating the fabric, and they are truly works of art - passed down through generations.

Removable Pillow Cover with Invisible Zipper - 100% silk jacquard has an all over intricate design with hand painted angled lines of different weights and colors. This was cut with the original center back seam of the hand-stitched kimono intact. We have reinforced the seam with a machine sitch and a serged finished edge. Fabric is from Kyoto Prefecture in Japan.
